The New Nokia N900 and Maemo 5 OS.

Nokia released its first Linux-based smartphone yesterday running on the Maemo 5 OS. The smartphone is called the N900 which is an evolution of their previous Internet Tablet devices that surprisingly did not support cellular connections (only WiFi). Among the big features of the device are the ability to multi-task and better web browsing capabilities. Nokia denies that Maemo will replace Symbian as Nokia’s standard smartphone OS. Instead, Nokia’s Anssi Vanjoki told Bloomberg that the N900 was aimed at the estimated 200 million technology leaders on the planet.

Spotify for iPhone preview

Spotify mobile for iPhone is finally set to be available for premium subscribers via the App Store in the U.S. and consumers are ecstatic. Spotify managed to get into the App Store ahead of competitors Rhapsody and Grooveshark after initial reports that Apple might deny the service due to it’s competitive threat to iTunes. The recent investigation by the FCC around Apple’s app store approval process may have led to Apple quickly approving the app to refute all anti-competitive claims. Either way, I am super psyched about this and looking forward to full on unadulterated music goodness.

Paypal’s Do Stuff For Money Campaign

paypal_dostuffformoney

Paypal recently rolled out their new service called Do Stuff for Money. It’s a service that allows you to send an offer to your friends via e-mail or via FB Connect to do stuff for money. A recent offer that’s currently on the site reads, “Free Spin offered Juan Gram $100.00 to “Just simply take a shower, it’s for your own good.. ;) “. Once your friend accepts and does what you asked, you can easily pay them using PayPal. No cash is exchanged by either party, just the way Paypal likes it, a cash-less society.

555 KUBIK – a fantastic 3D Facade projection — “How it would be, if a house was dreaming”

555 KUBIK | facade projection | from urbanscreen on Vimeo.

“The conception of this project consistently derives from its underlying architecture – the theoretic conception and visual pattern of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. The Basic idea of narration was to dissolve and break through the strict architecture of O. M. Ungers “Galerie der Gegenwart”. Resultant permeabilty of the solid facade uncovers different interpretations of conception, geometry and aesthetics expressed through graphics and movement. A situation of reflexivity evolves – describing the constitution and spacious perception of this location by means of the building itself.”
